Preschool Story Time

Ages 1-5

Mondays at 10:30am – Marion Branch Library

Tuesdays at 10:30am – Old Fort Branch Library

Books, songs, felt board stories, action rhymes and fun for preschool aged children.

There will be no Storytime the week of December 19th and December 26th

Crafts for Little Hands

Ages 1-5

Second Monday at 11:00am – Marion Branch Library

Second Tuesday at 11:00am – Old Fort Branch Library

Once a month after Story Time, preschool-aged children are invited to craft at the library. Dress for a mess because we will be using glue, scissors, paints, paper, markers, crayons and much more! Targeted age group 3- to 5-year olds, but all are welcome.

Craft Take-and-Make Kit Pick-up (While supplies last)

Ages 5- 5th Grade

Every 3rd Friday of the month at 10:00am

Stop by your local branch to pick up a fun craft kit.

Adult – Pisgah Legal Services program at 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at the Old Fort Library.

Join Pisgah Legal Services for more information on healthcare options and how to enroll in the new year. Appointment is required.

-Saturday, December 3

Children – Super Saturdays (Old Fort Library) is a program for the whole family to enjoy at 12 noon.

The Old Fort Branch will be having a Holiday Cookie Decorating from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Wear your favorite ugly holiday sweater and join us for an afternoon of decorating cookies!

-Tuesday, December 7

Adult – Join us at the Marion Library along with Pisgah Legal services for an immigration presentation. We will be joined by Thalia Hoy, an expert in immigration law, who will be discussing the immigration process, costs, timeline, and answer general questions. If you would like to learn more or have questions about the immigration process, join us at the Marion Library starting at 4 pm. (Presentation will be in spanish)

-Thursday, December 8

Children – Bird Watching 101 at the Marion Library at 4pm.

Join Park Ranger Jamie Cameron, as he shares his lifelong passion for birds with participants of all ages. This will be a question-and-answer session where you will have the opportunity to ask an expert about all things bird-related.

-Saturday, December 10

General – The Old Fort Library will be hosting a Holiday Photo Program from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Sign up is required. Contact the circulation desk to sign up for a 10 minute slot. We will email you the photos so you can print them at your convenience.

-Thursday, December 15

Adult – Thursday Crafternoons at 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at the Old Fort Library.

Join us for an evening of crafting! This month we are making wine cork ornaments.

Adult- Substance Abuse and Recovery at 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Marion Library.

Join us at the Marion Library with guest speaker Jacqueline Watson as she talks about substance abuse and recovery. Substance abuse is a commonly occurring issue that affects nearly every community and can severely impact individuals’ lives. If you would like to learn more about addiction and recovery please join us at the Marion Library at 4 PM.

Adult- Book Club Meeting at 1:00 pm @Ingenious Coffee Shop on Main St. in Marion

We will be discussing “Where the Forest Meets the Stars” by Glendy Vanderah. Newcomers welcome!

The Marion Branch will be making Gingerbread Houses from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm..

Adult- DIY Tuesday at 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Marion Library.

Join us at the Marion Library where we will be preparing for the holidays by making book page trees. The perfect decoration for every home! Beginning at 3:30 pm
