After years of searching, the family of Joseph Mark Loftis finally has closure. Joe passed away on October 13, 2020, in Old Fort. The son of Joseph and Christine Martin Loftis of Marion, he was born in Bell County Texas on October 24, 1979.
Joe loved to tinker with different things and loved to figure out just how they worked. He enjoyed many things in life, especially his family. Known as a traveler, Joe was known to always want to try new things and see new places. He regularly attended the First Free Will Baptist Church of Marion and was loved deeply by his friends and family.
Joe is preceded in death by his brother, TJ Loftis, who passed away in 2016, and his father, Teddy Joe Loftis, who passed away in December of 2020.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his grandparents Joseph and Christine who raised him, are his mother, Adelisa Davis Loftis (Brian Taylor), two sisters, Crystal Ann Loftis (Jeremiah Murray, Virginia Lee Loftis (Frank Barlowe), three brothers, James Loftis, Michael Loftis (Trudy), Tim Loftis (Janie). He also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Marion, with Pastor Brian Bird Officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service at the church.
A private graveside service followed by entombment will occur at McDowell Memorial Park.
